As I watched Lance Armstrong, being interviewed by Oprah, I was focused on the courage that is necessary, to face the world and confess to lying. I can understand that, on the human level where everyone is unconscious, being irresponsible, and getting caught up in pre-meditated acts of self-importance are simply par for the course. Yes, what he did, and the fact he denied it and spent years covering up the truth, wreaked havoc on the sport of professional cycling. Not to mention the countless lives, families and organizations, including LiveStrong, who were caught in the devastating trail of one man’s self-centered quest to win, no matter the cost.
