Breath – Sound – Awareness
The Universe is calling us to awaken.
There are many paths that will lead us to awaken; yet, each path will invite us to explore three important elements:
- The power of Breath.
- The Power of Sound.
- The Power of Awareness.
Soulful Breathwork is a practice of active conscious breathing that heals and rejuvenates physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Breathing continuously, for an extended period of time, in a fully supported and safe environment, causes deep relaxation and facilitates the safe release of physical and emotional trauma stored in the body. The method is gentle but effective because it activates the intrinsic intelligence of the body to heal and generate cumulative and permanent change. Soulful Breathwork is an excellent tool for self-discovery, often leading to a more integrated and authentic experience of self and increased compassion toward self and others.
The healing available through breathwork is uniquely tailored to each person and depends on the concern which is most ‘ripe’ for the person to address at any particular moment. Some of the most frequent benefits people have experienced in Soulful Breathwork include:
- stress or anxiety relief
- peace of mind and mental clarity
- emotional healing or release
- continuing self-development
- spiritual connection, integration, and wholeness.
Please bring a yoga mat, blanket or sleeping bag, and a small pillow.
For thousands of years, sound and rhythm have been used in indigenous, shamanic and religious spiritual practice in nearly every culture around the world. to achieve deeper states of relaxation and inner connection.
In this practice, we will combine these ancient ideas with modern (techniques) using Tibetan Singing Bowls, flutes, guitar and more to explore how frequency and vibration can affect the way we think and feel.
Our bodies function according to rhythms, cycles, and frequencies. The brain, heart, and breath are connected. Sound and frequency provide a window into how we can affect the body and mind at a deep level.
In addition to the practice, you can expect to understand how to— use sound and frequency based techniques to:
- Quiet the mind and release stress
- Encourage alpha and theta brainwaves and right brain activity and prepare the body and mind for deeper states of meditation and awakening
- Finally, you will develop a greater awareness of this universal language, of frequency, that connects us all. I hope you will enjoy this meditative journey.
Awareness allows our individual human experience to exist. Awareness is, in its natural state, what we are. By virtue of our ability to focus, our awareness can be made very narrow and rigid or, it can be expanded and allowed to flow.
When not consciously experienced, awareness is relegated to serving our human egoic fears and need for self-protection. Once awareness, as a conscious practice, is lost we descend into an unconscious existence where survival, fear, judgment, guilt, shame, anxiety and suffering become “normal” experiences.
When the stirrings of awakening commence, our awareness will begin to expand in an organic dance between the unearthing of our egoic pain and the arousing of Divine Peace. The simplicity of the power of awareness can be experienced when we allow the rhythm of our breath and the vibration of sound to organically guide us into the depths of our being. Discovering what blocked and narrowed our awareness, through childhood and/or ancestral wounding, is a process of self-inquiry that, when practiced in a loving space and with skilled practitioners, will lead to powerful emotional releases that reorient our awareness toward expansion and greater flow.
The power of awareness is most easily understood when we experience ourselves as the loving witness to whatever emerges. When we are in mindful and reverent contemplation of all that arises, awareness expands and embraces what is and the miracle of healing happens.

Plamen Russev brings his competence as a certified Integral Coach and Soulful Breathwork practitioner in service to individuals and organizations that foster and support consciousness, wholeness, health, and authenticity. Soulful Breathwork transformed his own life and development, which inspired him to share this practice with as many people as possible. Jonathan Adams discovered sound as therapy after his experiences and recovery from anxiety. As a touring musician, he knew the power of music to move our emotions, but following this experience, he understood its potential as a healing force. Since then, he has used his intuition, experiences, and studies to explore the role of sound and music in the healing arts and create new ways for people to relax, enhance self-healing, self-awareness, focus and creativity.
Jon also frequently gives talks and workshops on sound therapy and wellness, which include appearances at TedX, National Spiritual Living Conference, GA State Social Workers Conference, Emory Wellness Center, Wigwam Wellness Festival and many more. In only a few years, his sound therapy tracks have received millions of plays online, and can be streamed on YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud and the Insight Timer app. They are also used by Golds Gym nationally in their Centergy yoga classes. He continues to explore ways in which sound, as therapy, can help people to relax, de-stress, enjoy deeper meditations and FEEL GREAT!
